I’m Shreya, currently a rising high school senior in the United States. This blog post sort of explains my reasoning for creating this blog, but I’ll elaborate here.
I created this blog mainly as a repository for myself of all my inner-most thoughts and ideas on all sorts of subjects. You can expect me to discuss things like STEM, women in STEM, computer science, books, being a twin, academics, music (especially Sleeping At Last), movies, and everything in between. I have a broad range of interests and am an inherently curious person, and hope to share my curiosities in this blog.
I also intend for this blog to be a way for me to share my progress in projects I’m working on at the moment. I’m an aspiring computer scientist with no real specialty, though I’m definitely interested in bioinformatics, machine learning/data science, cognitive science, and app development. My end goal is to use computer science for social good. I intend to use this blog as a way to share my projects and the process of the growth of my skills in CS. I’ll be linking to my GitHub so you can view any of the projects I discuss (unless I intend to publish these projects on an app store or if they’re being used for private research). So you can expect some discussions into bioinformatics problems or some analysis of datasets too. If any of my readers have any computer science knowledge, I would love to pick your brains a little–I believe that the sharing of knowledge is a mutually beneficial; in the same way that I am benefitting hugely from your knowledge, I believe you’ll benefit hugely from sharing your knowledge.
